Ariane Von Kamp has interviewed screenwriters Shane Black, Gary Whitta, Bruce Joel Rubin, Nicholas Meyer, Anthony E. Zuiker, Leonard Stern, Danny Boyle, Matt Stone and Trey Parker, among other creative screenwriting illuminates.
Her love of story and writing began enjoying SNL as a child and then evolved into writing, producing, directing and acting in her own Off-Broadway theatricals in New York, Amsterdam and Paris during her studies at the Arts Student’s League of New York, Yale School of Drama, The Royal Shakespeare Company in London, The Actors Studio East and Second City Training Center in Los Angeles.
Ariane holds a BA in American Government from the Rockefeller School of Public Affairs and Policy and a MA in International Affairs from the Universiteit Van Amsterdam in the Netherlands where she wrote theatre criticism for respective university publications. After returning from abroad, Ariane worked at ABC News (specializing in natural disasters and entertainment), Random House Books (writing for special trade group in house) in New York, and, Universal Studios and HBO in Los Angeles.
Her short screenplay “Marrying James Spader” won Best Short Script at Venice’s Broad Humor Film Festival in 2007. Ariane has received various accolades through Fade – In Magazine’s Annual Screenwriting and Best Comedienne Contests. She plans on returning to The American Film Institute’s Conservatory, to complete her MFA in Screenwriting, whose studies were cut short in 2008, when hired to write BRIAN’S LAW, a feature film length script based on a DUI Homicide Case.
Ariane is the Co-Founder THEATRE ARK with James Kloiber, whom she met while at the Actor’s Studio MFA program in New York. Sam Shepard’s Fool For Love was thier Premiere play. Ariane has produced and hosted over 40 live comedy shows in Los Angeles and Beverly Hills, an Energy Shot commercial and DingleberrySitcom, the world’s first cat sitcom. Ariane has appeared in various feature films including CHARLIE’S ANGELS (2000), ANCHORMAN (2004) and A MACHINE RIPPED HIS LEG OFF (2010), as well as television shows including X-FILES, COMPLETE SAVAGES and BEVERLY HILLS. 90210.
